If you have too much gum showing when you smile, which causes your teeth to look short, we call this a gummy smile. If your gum line is uneven, so that some teeth look shorter than others, we call this a crooked smile. Both situations are easily remedied with a procedure referred to as a gum reshaping or crown lengthening.
During this procedure, we remove excess gum tissue and reshape the contour of your gums to expose more of a tooth’s surface. This ensures a natural-looking gum line, which is more aesthetic and functional.
We have minimally invasive ways of obtaining excellent and instant results, using Erbium lasers. There are no stitches and usually no discomfort during or after the procedure, and you can leave the office with an incredibly beautiful smile.
Sometimes a fold of tissue, called a frenum, grows thickly between two teeth and can obstruct normal function. In these cases a frenectomy procedure can be done using a laser to release the tight pull and allow the teeth, lip, or tongue to function normally, as well as improve the cosmetic appearance.
